How face recognition works
Register the face
The employee registers 1 to 6 face photos once in the Employee app.
Manager approval
The manager reviews each face print and approves or rejects it.
Verified at every punch
At check-in and check-out the app takes a photo and verifies it in about a second.
Face photo requirements
The full face must be clear and centred, with only one face in the picture, good lighting and no prescription glasses or sunglasses. More photos (up to 6) from different angles and lighting improve accuracy.

Do I need a fingerprint device?
No. Employees clock in with their face on their own phone using the Camtend Employee app.
How much does face recognition cost?
Face recognition is included in the Camtend subscription at no extra cost, and you can try it free for 14 days.
Does it rely on the phone's Face ID?
No. Camtend face recognition is independent of Face ID, and nobody else can clock in for the employee even if they are added to the phone's Face ID.
Can I enable it for some employees only?
Yes. On the employee page, enable photo capture during clocking, then enable Face Recognition and save.
How long does a face check take?
