What is employee face recognition in Camtend?
It is an advanced Camtend feature that uses AI to help administrators verify the identity of employees recording clock-in and clock-out punches.
How is employee face recognition registered?
Employees register their face photo once through the Camtend TR app. An administrator then approves or rejects each profile. The app subsequently captures and analyzes the employee photo to verify identity during clock-in and clock-out.
How accurate is employee face recognition during time tracking?
Accuracy is very high, and the system prevents another person from recording attendance on behalf of an employee.
Can face recognition be enabled for selected employees only?
Yes. You can enable face recognition for selected employees or all employees. Open the employee page, enable photo capture during time tracking, enable Face Recognition, and save the employee.
What are the photo requirements for employee face recognition?
- The full face must be clear and centered in the image.
- Only one face may appear in the image.
- Lighting must be adequate.
- The employee must not wear prescription glasses or sunglasses.
How many face images should be registered for each employee?
You can register between one and six images for each employee. Capture different angles and lighting conditions when possible. More images, up to six, improve recognition accuracy.
How long does face recognition registration take?
Each face registration usually takes under three seconds and is performed only once during the employee tenure. Older devices may take slightly longer.
Does this feature depend on the Face ID configured in the employee phone security settings?
No. Camtend face recognition is independent of the phone Face ID settings. Disabling phone Face ID or adding other people to it does not affect Camtend, and the app will not allow another person to record the employee punches.
How long does face recognition take during clock-in or clock-out?
Approximately one second, with very high accuracy.
How much does the face recognition service cost?
This service is completely free.
